Becoming ServSafe Certified
by: Abbie Dzara
ServSafe provides food safety training and alcohol training throughout the United States. Recently we saw a need for a ServSafe Proctor/Instructor within Fresh Hospitality. We decided I would become certified to teach and certify food service workers. Fresh Admin now hosts ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certifications in our training room and at various restaurants throughout the United States. Classes can be hosted anytime by request.
Our ServSafe Food Safety Manager training and certification is designed for managers, chefs, owners, and supervisors in the food industry. We are recommending anyone in these roles take the class. To become certified, you must attend the two day class/ four hours each day. Our version blends the newest FDA Food Code, food safety research, and food sanitation training. While taking the class students learn to implement vital food safety practices and create a culture of food safety in the restaurant they work at. All content covered and materials provided are based on actual job tasks identified by foodservice industry experts.
After enrolling in our class students are provided with a variety of materials to help each learner succeed. Listed below are some of the materials that will be provided.
- Class hosted in a small group
- Interactive PowerPoint Slides
- Quizzes to review each section
- Flashcards provided online
- ServSafe manager test
- Certificate of completion
Certification requirements vary for each county and requirements change often. Even if your county does not require training it is worth taking the course. The course includes useful information that will help me at every restaurant employee. Click here to learn more.
